Information: Krystian Zimerman
Mr. Zimerman originally planned to perform a program made up entirely of works by Claude Debussy, centered around Debussy’s 12 Etudes, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth. After much careful consideration, however, he has made the decision to perform two different programs with works by Debussy in the first half; and in the second half, a work by Szymanowski, a historic composer from Mr. Zimerman’s country, Poland, and a work by Brahms or Chopin.
These are ideal programs in terms of overall structure, and Mr. Zimerman has performed them to great acclaim in Berlin and other locations in Europe.
We ask for your understanding of this significant program change, which is the result of Mr. Zimerman’s careful and serious consideration.
