Yuya Okamoto will become an official member of Quatuor Ébène !


Cellist Yuya Okamoto, a Japan Arts artist, is set to become an official member of Quatuor Ébène, which is acclaimed as one of the world’s most outstanding string quartets.

Yuya Okamoto was awarded 2nd Prize in the 2017 Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition, and has carried out remarkable performance activities worldwide. In 2019, his talent was recognized by the incomparable master Krystian Zimerman, with whom he performed in Japan and overseas as a chamber music project member. Since summer 2023, Okamoto has performed as guest cellist with Quatuor Ébène in numerous concerts in Europe.

In January 2024, Okamoto performed as tour soloist on the Japan tour of the Prague Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tomáš Brauner, earning high praise for his outstanding performance technique and rich musicality.
