＜Change of Cellist＞Philharmonic Octet Berlin

We regret to inform you that Olaf Maninger, cellist of the Philharmonic Octet Berlin and Seven Virtuosi of the Berlin Philharmonic, who was scheduled to tour Japan from February to March 2026, will be unable to participate in this tour due to health reasons.

As a result, Christoph Igelbrink, who served as the cellist of the Philharmonic Octet Berlin until September 2025, will appear as a substitute performer.

Christoph Igelbrink (Cello)

Born in Düsseldorf in 1958, Christoph Igelbrink joined the Hamburg State Opera in 1986. He became a member of the Berlin Philharmonic in 1989 and served in the Orchestra until his retirement in September 2025.
He remains active as a chamber musician, performing with artists such as Shlomo Mintz, Hartmut Rohde, Martin Helmchen, Anna Vinnitskaya, and Lisa de la Salle, and continues to work as a member of The 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmoniker.
