Noriko Ogawa will host the General Assembly of the WFIMC in Hamamatsu
A general assembly of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC), of which the pianist Noriko Ogawa is a director, will be held on June 2 and 3 in Hamamatsu, the venue of the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition.
From WFIMC with over 120 members of international music competitions, in addition to the secretaries-general and related personnel of the competitions of Cliburn, Liszt, Indianapolis, Mirjam Helin, Sydney, Rubinstein, Schoenfeld, Busoni, Wieniawski, Horowitz, Kreisler, Geneve, Leeds, Paderewski and others, piano makers (Steinway, Yamaha, Kawai, Fazioli, and Hailun) will gather together for the first time at the general assembly where information sharing among the music competitions and panel discussions on different themes will take place.
Noriko Ogawa will appear as moderator in “From PTNA to the World: Inside the world´s largest national piano Competition” and as panelist in “Gender Equality & Privilege in a changing Music World”. Jun-ichi Nihei, President of Japan Arts will be a guest speaker in “The State of Classical Music in Asia”.
