International Music Festival NIPPON

Concert schedule of the fifth International Music Festival NIPPON

The fifth International Music Festival NIPPON is held in Tokyo, Nagoya and Kuji.
We invite those who won the International Tchaikovsky Competition as did Akiko Suwanai, to hold chamber music and orchestra concerts.
Furthermore, we world-premiere a new piece written by a Japanese composer having taken an active role in the world. During the festival, there are also, as per every year, various programs including educational programs and musical events in collaboration with other artistic genres.
Please look forward to the fifth International Music Festival NIPPON.

About Masterclass

Masterclasses (violin and cello)
for Young Talents Representing the Next Generation

Masterclasses of the International Music Festival NIPPON (open lesson) is one of the activities Akiko Suwanai works for with passion. She wishes, through this program, to share to younger generations the “world level skills” she gained through her career as top violinist. Indeed, she herself was deeply influenced by a masterclass she took when she was elementary school student.
She believes that even young kids around this age should have opportunity to lean with professional, high level musicians through masterclass. For several days, during dense and meaningful masterclasses, young musicians’ dream of being professional in future and the festival’s dream of supporting them are crossing.
